Chris Shaffer is an Indiana-based singer-songwriter best known as the frontman of The Why Store and the writer of the 1996 single “Lack of Water.” He has recorded and performed solo and with projects such as Shaffer Street, and frequently performs duo shows (billed as Chris Shaffer Duo) at venues like Indianapolis’ Slippery Noodle Inn. Shaffer has remained active in the Midwest live circuit for decades and continues to tour and release music with The Why Store.
