He began playing mandolin at an early age and later formed a touring band, The Hellbenders. His 2022 EP Hellbender reached #1 on the iTunes all-genre chart, and he has opened on bills with national country acts while building a regional touring profile. Ruff releases music via Ruff/Ruff Cut Records and has issued singles from 2020 through 2026.
