Formed in 1972 (originally as Beaver Brown), the group achieved mainstream success in the 1980s after supplying the music for the film Eddie and the Cruisers—their single "On the Dark Side" became a top-10 hit. The band has remained active on the touring circuit, was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, and issued a new studio album, Sound of Waves, in April 2025.
