The Butler University Wind Ensemble presents our first concert of the 2026-2027 season, Southern Harmonies.
We welcome to the stage two Butler University School of Music faculty members for a performance of Jennifer Brandon’s Double Concerto for Bassoon, Oboe, and Wind Symphony, with Dr. Doug Spaniol, bassoon and Professor Pam Ajango, oboe.
Additionally, the concert includes Percy Grainger’s Molly on the Shore; Carlos Simon’s Sweet Chariot; Mason Bates’ electro-acoustic piece Rusty Air in Carolina; and wind band masterwork Southern Harmony, by Donald Grantham.
The ensemble is led by Dr. Trae Blanco, Associate Professor of Music, and Director of Bands, and features graduate conductors Collin Cerny and Ryan Mack.
