The Latiné Community in Indianapolis

Expanding Our Story—The earliest records of Latinos in Indianapolis date to the late 19th Century. It is one of our city's largest, growing, and most diverse populations. This online program will briefly explore the challenges of research, the newly expanded city history, and the data-driven tools accompanying an upcoming Encyclopedia of Indianapolis feature, which will launch by the end of 2026. Registration is required.
Presented by: We will be joined by Historian and Curator of Multicultural Collections at the Indiana Historical Society, Nicole Martinez-LeGrand.
Reading List: Explores Indianapolis Hispanic and Latino history. The collection features both nonfiction and fiction titles.
