Girl Scouts: Toymaker’s Workshop
Sunday, November 22| 9:30-11 a.m. OR 1-2:30 p.m. | Ticket Required | Daisy, Brownie, Junior
Visit our Toymaker’s Workshop to earn your Craft and Tinker badge! Choose a project of wood or leather to build a toy from scratch using real tools and techniques.
What You'll Do
Girl Scouts can earn their Tinker and Craft badge by selecting a hands-on project in which they will use real tools to create one toy. You will receive all the supplies to create your project and use shared tools to complete it. An instruction booklet with video links is provided to guide your toymaking and museum staff and volunteers are there each step of the way to ensure a smooth process.
Toy options are included below.
Woodcraft: This project involves making string art with nails. You will pick out a design, hammer nails into a wood round, and wrap colorful string around the nails to bring your design to life.
Leathercraft: This project involves making an animal out of leather. You will choose between a dog, cat, or pig design. You will cut out the design in leather, punch designs into it, dye it, and add a snap-on accessory.
Badge Information
This event is for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts to earn their Craft and Tinker badge. The badge can be purchased for an additional fee on the registration page. If you decide to purchase the badge from us, you will receive it at check-in.
Where You'll Go
