Welcome to the Athenaeum – a unique historical, architectural, and cultural landmark of Indianapolis! Originally built in the 1890s as a ‘house of culture’ for the community, the Athenaeum is one of the few buildings that continue to be used as originally intended.The Athenaeum’s purpose is to be a place where its members can nurture a sound mind and a sound body.
